Duties and responsibilities
Senior Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in managing complex and sensitive payroll functions, with a particular emphasis on processing involuntary garnishment deductions. This includes a variety of involuntary orders such as student loan payments, bankruptcy filings, child support obligations, and lien levy notices. The specialist is expected to handle these deductions with precision, ensuring that they are set up correctly and processed in a timely manner.
Job Description
- Handling Payroll involuntary deductions and setups with 100% Accuracy
- Working on reports, notices, Indexing , letters related to Garnishment
- Supporting the lead specialist on reports relating to Pay run and Garnishment deductions
- Indexing court documents, Setup involuntary deductions, send term letters, answering status letters from court
- Handling email queries related to Garnishment and Vendor setups
- Ensure awareness of all policies and compliance relating to US payroll and apply during the execution of daily work
- Support the team on ad-hoc projects for yearend reports
- Flexibility in handling different processes and managing workload during system downtime and year end timelines
- Well equipped with yearend calendar, updates and process changes
- Effective communication within payroll teams as per business requirements
- Provide inputs to streamline the process, while supporting on daily tasks
- Participate in continuous process improvement activities by contributing ideas.
REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Reporting to Manager and working closely with larger payroll team and be flexible in working on different LOB withing payroll e.g. Tax, Processing and Banking.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or Accounting:
- Excellent written and verbal communication
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
- Requires minimum 6 months to 1 year of any payroll processing experience
- Experience working on MS Excel
- Attention to detail, accurate and professional communicator
