PRIMARY FUNCTION

The position will be responsible for driving execution and results for the Indirect and Reverse Logistics (IRL): Operational Insights work based out of India. This will include managing teams and delivering weekly routines and projects for Indirect and Reverse Logistics. The responsibility of this role includes leading the Operational Insights Analysts and oversee quality delivery of analytics

and automation projects. This position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills. It requires boldness in developing a voice to identify developmental opportunities and challenging the status quo with Minneapolis IRL leaders and external vendors and partners. It also requires strategic thought in the staffing, retaining, developing and training of a balanced team. This role

requires a person with excellent analytical/technical abilities, the desire, and love of learning, and interest in Targets operations, supply chain and logistics functions. The candidate should have some programming experience in an open source language (preferably R or Python), and a real interest to build and hone these skills.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy and Leadership:

• Lead Operational Insights Analysts across verticals (Indirect, Reverse and Field Operations) – Identify and setup new stream of work and project transitions to India.

• Develop and implement strategies to support the team’s key priorities.

• Be passionate about data, analysis, metrics development, feature experimentation and its application to improve both business strategies, as well as support to IRL operations team

Partnership:

• Partner with senior leadership(Sr Directors and Directors) of global teams to challenge the status quo and create efficiency and bandwidth

• Work with external partners and vendors to streamline data analysis, reporting and hone working partnerships

• Build stronger business context and elevate the team's capability from execution focused to end-to-end capability focused.

• Provide and receive feedback about the global team and support an effective partnership.

Project Management and Innovation:

• Establish comprehensive project management practice to ensure optimal utilization of resources

• Define the plan to manage stakeholder communication

• Contribute in Agile ceremonies to keep the team up-to-date on task progress, as needed

• Assist in problem solving, remediate obstacles, use independent judgement and decision making to deliver as per product scope, provide inputs to establish product/project timelines

Culture, Communication, and Training:

• Help establish Target culture and best practices for all of Target India.

• Focus on metrics and data – improve the effectiveness of the team by introducing new policies and procedures and or improving existing processes.

• Demonstrate sensitivity to cross-cultural nuances. Communicate effectively with team members and partners in various forums including town halls and skip level meets.

• Provide direction, support, and training opportunities for team members.

People Management:

• Leads a team of Analysts and Sr. Analysts. Responsible for hiring , talent assessment, mentorship, competency development, performance management, productivity improvement, talent retention, career planning and development

• Manage a team of high performing analysts to build insights, analytical products and reports for Indirect and Reverse Logistics Business teams at Target

• Manage team’s outcomes, delivery milestones, quality metrics, establish required communication channel and accountable for execution

• Balance and prioritize workload and resources as necessary and takes necessary actions whenever required.

• Build rigor on team member development and leveraging various approaches to help team member make progress on their developmental opportunities.

REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

• Reports to Site leader, IR3 Operations in India. Supervises Team members and Contractors

• Working relationship: Indirect and Reverse Logistics Teams in Minneapolis, Site teams across network.

JOB REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

• 8+ years of overall experience and 5+ years in retail operations preferably

• 3+ years of business experience (preferably in the Supply chain & Inventory management) in managing business analysts with a focus on team, metrics, analytics, process improvements and overseas partnerships

• Experience in leading team with ability to solve business problems using analytics, statistical modeling and technology

• Ability to work within Minneapolis, MN and Bangalore, India time zones.

• Strong communication, decision making and problem-solving skills

• Demonstrated critical thinking skills

• Proven capability to lead team members, including personal development, work direction, and strategic collaboration.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks; strong organizational skills

• Effective Leader who can connect with team members and stakeholders with ease
