PRIMARY FUNCTION

Provide leadership and direction for the Vendor Operations team who empower Merchandising vendors to quickly, easily and confidently do business with Target, you will serve as “voice of the vendor.”

You and your team will support the vendor ecosystem including system and process support and initiatives ensuring they align with Merchandising Strategies.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Joint leadership of a Vendor Operations team focused on vendor communication, content management, vendor training and vendor data support, along with peer Sr. Managers located in US
  • Provide direction, coaching and development, training and workload management for the TII team
  • Drive the development of scalable best practices, identify hurdles to success, and partner with peers and leaders to remove obstacles
  • Build trusted partnerships with eco system partners like Product, Tech, Data teams to outline dependencies on planned bodies of work and bake them into the Goals & Objectives
  • Lead and coach the team to:
    • Drive accountability to best practices within team and partner to ensure accurate documentation and change management of product for end users.
    • Leverage strong problem solving & communication skills to support, implement & train best practices within the Vendor Operations team
    • Proactively identify risks and opportunities; escalate and recommend solution and action plan to partners and leaders as necessary

  • Staff Management and Development
  • Trains, coaches and develops exempt team members
  • Delivers performance appraisals resulting in recommendations for wage increases, promotions, transfers and other changes.
  • Develops team staffing plan to maximize the contributions of each team member while ensuring
  • adequate support for all systems and clients.
  • Project Management
  • Gather requirements, develops T&As, set milestones, monitors progress and makes adjustments to achieve deliverables.

Job Requirements

  • 6+ years’ experience in merchandising or similar field
  • Experience in vendor communications, vendor content management or vendor training
  • Undergraduate degree  
  • Strong team leadership and the ability to coach, develop and inspire others
  • Ability to successfully problem solve in ambiguous environments
  • Demonstrates courage and strong ability to influence in challenging situations
  • Excellent planning, organizational and decision making skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute to strategic plans and priorities
  • Applies intuition and experience to draw implications  
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
